Whigby Can Cut It
Friday, May 8, 2009 at 9:28AM

Whigby is celebrating Friday and enjoying cutaway diagrams. There may well be some Whigby cutaway cards or wraps down the road.
Whigby is pattern and paper; eccentricity and authenticity; cheap cheeriness with a dash of cheekiness; lovely uncoated recycled broadsheets and perfect printing. Whigby adds to the pleasure of giving and receiving. Whigby is about concealment and revealment. Whigby is crisp, tailored, torn and tattered. Whigby is memorable, forgettable, timeless and ephemeral. Whigby is here to stay.

Now that one of Whigby's fastest selling product categories is posters, we thought we'd post a regular weekly (every Tuesday) piece about the subject (past and present). We're starting with one of our favourite artists: E. McKnight Kauffer. Best known for his London Underground work, you can read about him here and see more of his work here.

Serge Bloch's Deep Blue Heart is hand letterpressed for Whigby on Curious Touch, a somewhat furry paper that some have described as having the same surface quality as the skin on Camembert cheese. If you're going to be at the National Stationery Show, stop by for a feel. Or, just buy it here now.
Friday, May 1, 2009 at 9:01AM No rest for Whigby. We have lots of work to do this weekend as we prepare for the National Stationery Show. Tonight (Friday), we're taking a well deserved break. See you at the disco.

Whigby is pleased to be ranked number two in a list of Five Things I'm Loving Right Now on Wiz Wharton's blog. Number one? Dog noses.

We're very close to having a new multipurpose custom display rack that will work with our notecards (sets and singles), flat wrap and a secret new product that we're not yet ready to talk about. And like our original rack, it will be precision laser cut and fabricated from powder coated steel. The rack (along with 70 new products) will make its debut on May 17th at the National Stationery in New York. Like us, the display rack media is in a state of confusion and nervous excitement.

We have an urge to put the Whigby logo atop the Seagram building in Manhattan. For now, this will have to do (and its more appropriate).
